  • Margaret Howell Brian Willsher

  • 2022 Calendar for Margaret Howell featuring works by British artist and sculptor, Brian Willsher. A significant amount of sculptures were made by Willsher throughout his career, becoming sought after by mid-century art collectors. Fortunately Margaret Howell had a contact who was both a collector and a friend of Brian’s son. Giving access to both their collections we were able to make a selection of sculptures to feature in the calendar. We worked with still life and interiors photographer, Jake Curtis, setting up a set within his Haggerston-based studio. Willsher’s work features intricate shapes formed by cutting the sculptures free-hand on a band saw, captured through a range of abstract crops which emphasise the level of craft and detail that went into Willsher’s work.
