Website design for award-winning London-based architects, Tuckey Design Studio (Formerly Jonathan Tuckey Design). In 2023, Dominic collaborated with Jonathan Tuckey and his team to create a new website that reflects the studio’s distinctive approach to architecture and interior design. Partnering with Celeste Bolte, founder of SALT Architecture PR and Communications, we redefined how the studio communicates its design philosophy through an enhanced site structure.
A key focus was placed on highlighting the meticulous attention to detail in Tuckey Design’s projects. The website’s multi-layered design allows users to explore content at various levels, with detailed annotations accompanying project images and videos. This thoughtful structure provides an engaging experience, offering insights into the studio’s architectural processes and craftsmanship. Project undertaken at A Common Purpose.
Content In conjunction with the detailed design elements, such as captions, we explored how film can be used throughout the website adding movement and unexpected glimpses into both their projects and London studio. Emphasis on these spaces are captured through short snippets of content that catch the users eye, usually locked off camera positions alluding to a still image. Opting for image ratios more associated with still images helped further accentuate this detail.
Languages Having offices in both Switzerland and Japan, in addition to the London office and with the practice operating throughout Europe, a language toggle was added to the website. If a user is viewing the website in a location where any of the specified languages are spoken or their devices default language matches one of the languages, the website will automatically make the switch. Further insuring performance of the site is optimised as well as the overall user experience.
